The Challenge: To design a road route during Easter weekend in Rome from the venue hotel in the very centre of Rome leading to the ‘dynamics’ area. We needed to be able to pause the AutoGuide software whilst at the dynamics area and resume exactly when required so freeing the vehicle resource whilst at the dynamics area. We also had to incorporate AutoGuide with the very latest TomTom satellite navigation system which is an approved accessory which Toyota wanted to showcase.

Our Approach: Three weeks prior to the event we mapped the chosen route and conducted all of the back at base programming as well as product script/safety message recordings. Our software was enhanced to allow a pause in the AutoGuide operation whilst vehicles were at the dynamics area, with a one button press operation to restart when required. We used AutoGuide to give essential (in Rome!) safety messages and more detailed navigation information such as the best lane to take in the congested city streets with of course, the product information messages.

The result: This event used AutoGuide working in conjunction with the TomTom sat nav system supplied with the Toyota Aygo to achieve satisfy the clients needs. The event was 3 weeks long and delegates covered over 3000km's with no major issues and no accidents.
